If you’re an avid reader of the « Mixtape Addict Media » website, then you know we like to take things internationally. Let’s hop on this flight to the Bahamas to sit down with hip-hop artist NOBLE BARZ ! Definitely making noise in the Caribbeans, he has been nominated several times at The Caribbean Music Awards. He recently dropped his 3rd solo project “T.S.I.R”… Check out his interview with « Mixtape Addict » below :
- Who is your all time favorite DJ ?
My all time favorite DJ is Premier, a living legend. His consistency in hip hop music is second to none.

- When was the first time you heard about a mixtape ?
The first time when hearing rappers spitting lyrics over other rapper’s tracks and then building a buzz of sorts by doing a series creating a body of work. The mixtape scene has flourished into a powerful promo exercise that can work well for some artists prior to bringing out an official project; it can vary depending on one’s creative vision for that time.
- We know you’re from the Bahamas, how was the mixtape game out there ?
The mixtape scene is pretty cool out here in the Bahamas like what I earlier mentioned; it varies depending on one’s creative vision for that time from artist to artist a few go that route while others may not. Even though just speaking for myself I am currently not in that vein now creatively as I am more focus on writing only to original tracks as a pre-warm up lyrically there is a value to the mixtape approach in flexing ones verbal cadence or control to an existing track that may have a similar feel or sonic vibe to one of the original tracks that one as a writer can practice to as reference musically. LOL Shameless plug checkout the below link for example a mixtape I did awhile back with one of my partners in rhyme who goes by the artist name of Phlocypha while I was still under a my former moniker Barz Noble: https://soundcloud.com/bigtunemachine/sets/mixtape-21-7-vol-1-philocypha
- What do you think about the over-saturation of new artists in the music industry ?
Truly I have no problem with the numbers of what some may view as over-saturation of new artists. For me it’s about the QUALITY IN THE QUANTITY amongst the artists considered new in the music industry.
- What are your plans to get bigger in the future ?
Honestly I am just a vessel of the Creator whatever this current platform that can propel direction wise to something bigger I am willing to go forward in wisdom.
- Who is your favorite hip-hop entrepreneur and why ?
Actually it’s Diddy I respect how he continues to reinvent himself in different avenues even outside of hip hop when one area slows down he evolves in other entrepreneurial endeavors becoming his own brand.

- If you could get a collab done with an artist from outside of the U.S who should you choose ?
No artist in particular just Creatives who want to put out a quality work in an uplifting nature.
- If you could pick two producers to make an EP who would you choose ?
Besides the ones I have already done work with so far on my discography other producers like Danja and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League on an EP would be nice.
DANJA J.U.S.T.I.C.E League
- How do you stay creative to satisfy your fanbase ? Where do you find the inspiration ?
I am getting back into that creative groove especially after releasing my latest project « T.S.I.R. » (The Struggle Is Real) available on digital platforms to checkout and cop & also providing more visuals coming soon to recorded tracks. Life -Love and the Struggles are points where I find inspiration to write.
- Do you see solidarity in the underground hip-hop scene ?
The level of solidarity from what I see right now in the midst of this pandemic has been more out of necessity and that’s just my opinion. It is my hope that emcees and fellow creatives alike can capture true solidarity as a constant moving forward beyond the pandemic but be wise with it respectfully.
- How long have you been doing music and what keeps you inspired to stay in the marathon ?
Ten years plus in doing music on a recording level and just hearing good music that takes you to a place and acts as a canvas where I am able to paint with my words so that listeners can picture.
- If you could bring back a hip-hop legend from the dead, who would you choose ?
Mr.Solo from the Gospel Gangstaz to those of us like myself who were impacted by Holy Hip Hop culture and if I can add one more the X man himself DMX he had a calling on his life and was not shy to be transparent in showing his strengths and struggles alike.
- If you had 3 words to define yourself as an artist, what would you say ?
Evolving -Creative- Passionate in his craft as an artist. Noble Barz.
- What’s next for you ? What are you working on right now ?
I had already started recording on new music for another solo project that will be the follow up to the « T.S.I.R. » album that was recently released. I also will be getting back soon with the artist: Philocypha to put the finishing touches on some unreleased material we had started to work on a while back to see the light of day so stay tuned.
- Any words of advice for the young upcoming artists ?
Get informed, be consistent in your craft and yes we might be in a fast paced society but don’t be afraid to slow down whenever you need to in putting out QUALITY WITH THE QUANTITY even if your music or sound may not be for everybody but know indeed it is for somebody be encouraged and stay on the grind.
